Our Work

Title I FLOMUN Chapters

Model UN has never been a cheap activity. Conference fees and travel accommodations can set students back hundreds, and in some cases, thousands of dollars. In addition to being expensive, the majority of successful high school and collegiate teams are run by private institutions, limiting the MUN circuit’s competitive pool to a small, elite group of students. As a result of these prohibitive factors, many students are excluded from the educational opportunities MUN has to offer. For far too long, the MUN community has done nothing to drive real, impactful change. Given our current state of momentum after FLOMUN I, we are now dedicated to reaching a new goal of making MUN a more diverse and equitable space for all students, regardless of socioeconomic status. We have shifted our focus and resources to bridging the wide gap in accessibility within MUN through direct outreach to Title I schools and free training services. Our team has established MUN clubs throughout Florida in poorly funded middle and high schools, and cultivate each club’s growth through the FLOMUN Curriculum, a series of bi-weekly training sessions that are designed to familiarize students with Model UN and improve their public speaking skills. Independent delegates also have access to the FLOMUN Curriculum, and are invited to attend training sessions through Zoom at other schools.

FLOMUN II
